Telephone Health Service now available in Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen
The Telephone Health Service is open 24 hours every day of the year. The calls are answered by professional nurses with long experience in health care. The service costs the price of a normal telephone call.
You might want to call the Telephone Health Service to discuss for example whether your symptoms can be cured at home or whether you had better see a doctor, and if so, where you will find the most adequate care. If home care is sufficient, the Telephone Health Service can provide you with care instructions. If you are in for a laboratory test or similar, the telephone service can tell you how to prepare.
The goal for the municipalities that co-operate in developing the Telephone Health Service is to increase the citizen’s health information and at the same time to prevent jammed telephone lines at the health centres. In addition, the telephone service is hoped to reduce the amount of unnecessary health centre visits.
The service is produced by the company Mawell Oy, that provides the same services for Helsinki since December 2003.
